Retzer Nature Center Family Session

The sun was shining and spirits were bright despite the icy temps Sunday at Retzer Nature Center during our session. To manage the cold we did photos in shifts and we captured so many amazing shots of this wonderful three generation family and all the families within. The kids did absolutely great! They had so much fun running around and having a “snowball” fight. By the time we left I was no doubt freezing but my heart was so warm!

I came to know this beautiful family through my random college roommate turned best friend, Rachel. Since I met her, her family has grown tremendously, adding spouses and significant others as well as nieces and nephews! It’s a beautiful thing to see and be able to capture on camera. In these photos there are so many smiles and so much joy which pays homage to the closeness and love of this family.

To the Tabbert Family -I had so much fun on Sunday capturing these beautiful moments and getting pelted with fake snowballs! (couldn’t waste the opportunity to get that photo!) All the best to you all!!

Here’s a little sneak peek from their session.

Charles Langer Family Park Family Session

When I think of pure joy, I think of Hudson’s laugh this past weekend while his parents were swinging him in the air during their family session at Charles Langer Family Park. Hudson’s laugh was so infectious that I had a smile on my face the entire time and so did his parents. That laugh is gold and it melts my heart. It is so innocent, sweet and natural. It instantly reminds me of all of the joy of this time of year, even among the stressors that come along with the holiday season there is so much to be thankful for.

Working with families, watching them interact and capturing the joy that each person brings to one another is why I love to do what I do!

During this particular session, we did so much more than take beautiful photos!

We watched the tractor at a neighboring farm do some end of the season work.

Hudson, so sweetly, made sure his Dad’s sweater zipper was in the right spot during a few photos and searched for some cookies in another pocket (captured below).

Puppy (the cute stuffed bulldog) helped me take photos while he was tucked safely in my jacket and made a guest appearance in a few of the later photos.

Towards the end of the session Zach and Brittany got Hudson all bundled up so that they could take a couple sweet photos together.

Then it was time to head home where we captured a few glamour shots of the family dogs, Lacey and Penny.

Here’s a little sneak peek from the session.

Although time seems to move so fast during the sessions it is always so wonderful to have the opportunity to go back through and re-live them through the photos and this session was no different.

Brittany and Zach – Thanks so much for choosing me to capture these wonderful memories of your beautiful family! I loved spending time with you and your wonderful son!!

Stay tuned for more!

Best,
Jen
