We had so much fun during this Charles Langer Family Park Family Session yesterday morning and it shows in these photos!!

Lisa reached out to me about a month ago to book family photos and I was so excited that there was a day on both of our calendars that worked! Lisa and I used to work together and let me tell you, this woman is an absolute ROCKSTAR!! She is always giving everything she is involved in 110 percent. She is a wife, mama, healthcare worker, multi-awarded Presidents List and honors student at Herzing college and she recently became a Wish Granter for Make-A-Wish. She is also crushing her health goals. Lisa is so sweet and is one of the best people you will ever meet. It was great to get to catch up yesterday!

I not only got to hang out with Lisa yesterday, but I got to meet her husband, Tim, and two sons, Caleb and Dominick. Prior to our session, Tim and Lisa were able to check out the park along with their dog and found a bunch of amazing photo spots that I didn’t even know existed, even after shooting sessions there in the past. Check out the cool wooden wall in some of these sneak peeks! The weather was a little windy and chilly but the rain held off for us which we were so grateful for.

I love how Caleb and Dominick’s personal styles comes through in these photos. Dominick and I talked about his excellent drawing skills. Lisa told me about this amazing portrait that Dom drew of their dog Lenny. I’ve tried and failed so many times to draw dogs I cant even tell you. My hats off to Dom! Caleb and I chatted about school, his favorite classes are math and geography. We also talked about some awesome gym games. Turns out kids these days (wow I sound old) still love capture the flag which was one of my fave games in gym.

During family sessions I make sure there’s some time for mom and dad to get some portraits all on their own. With how crazy life is, especially now, it is so important to slow down, be together and soak in each other. Aren’t Tim and Lisa so sweet?!

It brings me so much joy to share this Burke Park Extended Family Session with you today! This was a special session for me and I am so grateful I was chosen to capture these photos. I have known the Ballweg Family (now the Ballweg-Welch-Pierce Family) since I was in elementary school. Tori and I are the same age and were in a ton of the same classes growing up, all the way through high school. We hung out a ton, especially in middle school. I have very fond memories of hanging out in the Ballweg’s backyard after school, playing with the dogs or hanging out in their basement playing with the most impressive electric car race track! Tori’s sister Jamie is my brothers age. Growing up we all also played soccer together. Susan, Tori and Jamie’s mom, coached our team!

Thinking back to the good old days it’s crazy how far we have all come and how much things have changed. Tori and Jamie are both married; Tori to Brian whom she met at the Madison airport when he used to fuel her airplane (yeah, how sweet is that) and Jamie to Kyle whom she met in school (they’re high-school sweethearts you guys!!!). Kyle and Jamie are parents to the three sweetest little girls who did so well during our session!

We had perfect weather, sun and 70’s with some clouds, which is almost unheard of this time of year, for our area anyway, but I’ll take what I can get. We met at Burke Park which is a photographers dream! I have no idea how I had never been there before. There are so many fun areas to shoot photos and gorgeous landscape with an accessible island. Just look at all of these amazing sneak peeks!!
