Wisconsin State Capitol Family Session

I’m so excited to finally share this Wisconsin State Capitol Family Session with you today! This session is so special to me for so many reasons that I could fill a book so I’ll try to keep it brief.

Heather and I have been best friends for too many years to count, even if you use both your fingers and toes! We grew up a mile away from one another. We went to all of elementary, middle and high school together and hung out all the time. We took turns driving each other to school after we got our licenses, both getting in a fender bender on the way to get the other (separate occasions, no one was harmed thankfully). We went to countless dances and maybe a party or two our senior year…. Even after all of the time that has passed since then and all the miles between us, now that Heather lives in Texas, we have remained close and I am so grateful for that. Heather is the friend I can talk to about ANYTHING. She has seen me at my best and driven me home at my worst (we don’t need to go into that…if you know – you know).

Heather has been in town spending time with her mom recently and a few days ago while we were on a walk together Heather told me her brother was coming into town for the holidays too and asked if I had time to capture photos for her family this holiday season. Of course I did and honestly, I was elated. I can’t tell you how good it feels to have your best friends support your growing business and trust you to capture photos they will treasure forever.

Without further ado I bring you sneak peeks from our session!

This year has been tough in so many ways and the curveballs keep coming but through all of it I think many of us have learned to take a step back from the madness of life, slow down a little and take the time to appreciate all of the things we are so blessed with, our families being at the top of the list. As life goes on and kids grow up we all get busy and it’s harder to get everyone together and make time for family photos but when you do you will be so glad you did. Just ask Heather, Tyler and Shelly!

I’d also like to take a moment to highlight this beautiful, fiercely independent, strong, miraculous woman you see above. She is an absolute amazing mom to her kids and to all of her kid’s friends for that matter. Shelly is the most caring, authentic person and she is not afraid to tell it like it is – whether it’s that you talk way too fast for anyone to understand (guilty as charged) or that you’re in rougher shape than you think when she picks you and your friends up from a night on the town (back in our college days). She is a pleasure to be around and is simply the best.

Tyler and Heather are pretty rad too :).

Shelly, Heather and Tyler,

Thank you so much for choosing me to capture this session for you. I am absolutely honored to have done this for you and I cannot wait for you to see the rest of the gallery!

All my love,
Jen

Ed Tallard Park Family Session

I’m so excited to share this Ed Tallard Family Session with you today!

I met Jenny through work and she is one of the sweetest and most helpful people ever! She is always happy to answer any questions and is so pleasant to be around. She reached out to me a couple months ago to schedule a family session in December to capture some beautiful winter photos, hopefully after a fresh snow fall. Y’all, she got her wish! It has snowed here maybe 3 times so far which is so unusual for Wisconsin and this was our first BIG snow!
Her family is the sweetest too! It was so great meeting her husband and two kiddos! Harvey and Zoey were troopers and did great with the snow and chilly temps. Zoey made sure her and her moms boots were all cleaned off with her sweet little kitten mittens. Harvey was a pro at posing and was so good at following my directions for him!

Check out these super sweet sneak peeks!

How cute are they?!!

During a family session I make it a point to get some portraits of just mom and dad alone. It’s so important to take the time to get together with your spouse and have some time that is all about the two of you. It was also the perfect time to let the kiddos take a break, warm up in the car and watch the Badger game Dad had turned on. That’s what I call a win – win!

Jenny, Tom, Harvey & Zoey,

Thank you so much for choosing me to capture this session for you. I had such a great time with all of you! I am so happy we got the snow you were hoping for!! I can’t wait for you to see the rest of these photos.

Best,
Jen
