It was such a joy to see the Nordby family again! It had been a few years since we last got together, and so much has changed since then. Their family has grown by two little feet with the arrival of Elio, their sweet 6-month-old baby boy. Just like that, Junie is already 4 years old and attending 4K! She was happy to tell me all about how much she’s enjoying school, and I loved getting to catch up on all the little things that make this season of life so special.
We met at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center on the most perfect early fall evening. The weather was beautiful, the light was dreamy, and the first hints of fall color were beginning to show in the trees and prairie grasses. It was the kind of evening that makes you want to slow down, explore, and soak up every little moment.

We wandered all around the nature center, exploring the pond, strolling along the gorgeous boardwalk, and spending time in a field with a spectacular juniper tree. We also made our way to the nature-inspired play area and the beautiful entrance, finding plenty of spots for photos and a little adventure along the way.

Of course, no nature center visit would be complete without spotting some wildlife! We saw rabbits, squirrels, birds, frogs (including one particularly giant frog!), and more turtles than we could count. Between the laughs, gallops, big smiles, and curious little explorers, there was never a dull moment.

I love these sessions most. They’re a chance to reconnect with familiar faces, celebrate how much little ones have grown, and document the beautiful, wonderfully ordinary moments that make up family life.

Jamie, Peter, Junie and Elio,
It was so lovely catching up with you all again and meeting sweet, smiley Elio! Thank you for spending such a beautiful fall evening with me. I hope these photos bring you right back to this sweet season of life for years to come!
