I’m so excited to share this Ed Tallard Park maternity session with you today! This session is so near and dear to my heart because I have known Cayla since we were in middle school. I cannot imagine life without her. I am so honored that she and Alex chose me to photograph this special session for them.
Cayla and I met in our formative years and quickly became best friends. She taught me how to use a hair straightener, ya know, back when straight hair meant straight – like straight straight. Those were the days! After going different directions for college we have remained friends despite each living in different states and countries throughout the years. Poetically enough, we now are both married to our amazing husbands, live in the same city we met in and our husbands are besties! What more could we ask for?!
I remember distinctly when Cayla first told me about Alex. They met when they were both living in Boston some years ago, moved to Washington DC together and moved in with each other shortly after. Last August they got married in Wisconsin and moved back to our home town of Madison.
In June, Cayla and Alex announced to our close friend group that their family was growing (an excellent choice of words as it was right after we all toured a friends farm together)! We were blown away!! Two short months later my husband and I shared with Cayla and Alex that we were newly expecting too! They were the first friends we entrusted with our big secret. Let me tell you, it has been so incredibly nice to have someone to go through pregnancy with that is experiencing it too. I mean who wouldn’t want to be pregnant with their best friend?!
When it came to planning their maternity session Cayla and Alex wanted a location with beautiful mature pine trees so we chose Ed Tallard Park. The location could not have been more perfect! I mean check out these sneak peeks!!
Is your heart melting right now or is it just me?!
Cayla and Alex,
Thank you so much for choosing me to capture this session for you. I had such a great time with you! Brent and I are so happy to have you both in Madison. It is truly an honor and such a blessing to be your friend and I am so excited for your family to welcome Baby L in a couple short months!
Best,
Jen
